Our board has one goal: finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and lengthening the lives of our children.

2018

In 2018, we diversified our support in more ways than ever before. We fulfilled our $300,000 pledge to the Kentuckiana Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory Care Center. We also committed an additional $50,000 per year over the next three years to the Center allowing them to hire a CF-specific Research Fellow, the first position of its kind here in Louisville. We sent $100,000 to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to support CF research they are doing involving personalized medicine in cystic fibrosis care. We also gave $10,000 to Cystic Fibrosis Research Inc. to support their efforts nationwide. We’ve continued to support the research efforts of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by sending them a $25,000 check. Lastly, we created a special $2,400 fund for special patient needs right here in Louisville who have financial hardship getting to appointments (e.g. transportation).

2017

We believe the fastest route to a cure is research. In 2017, Cure CF, Inc. directed $110,000 of the money we raised to Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation, fulfilling part of our $300,000 pledge to the Kentuckiana Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory Care Center. Additionally, in 2017, Cure CF sent a check for $150,000 to the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Bethesda, Maryland, earmarked for research.

In our three years of existence, Cure CF, Inc. has increased our fundraising totals by 380%. Looking back over those three years, most of the early dollars went to the national CFF earmarked for research, but the board’s 2018 goals include showing more support for local care for CF, driving our commitment to the Kentuckiana Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory Care Center.
